I recently met with Rita Del Rios, the Long Island Admissions Representative from Salve Regina. Rita, who is also a graduate of Salve, greatly impressed me with her knowledge of and enthusiasm for the school. Salve Regina, located in Newport Rhode Island, is a small (enrollment just over 2000 students), private, Catholic, and co-educational institution. They consider applicants in a holistic manner and are an SAT/ACT test optional school (except for students applying for their Nursing and Education programs).
The university through teaching and research prepares men and women for responsible lives by imparting and expanding knowledge, developing skills, and cultivating enduring values. Through liberal arts and professional programs, students develop their abilities for thinking clearly and creativity, enhance their capacity for sound judgement, and prepare for the challenge of learning throughout their lives. Hallmarks of the Salve Regina education include:
- Emphasis on hands on learning through internships
- Strong sense of community
- Access to ongoing career services
- Significant opportunities for alumni networking
Contact me for additional information and/or if you would like me to arrange for you to meet with Rita. She is often on Long Island visiting schools and meeting with students and parents.
